The flowing
shapes and curves of these elegant stair railings were hand
forged onto
the ends of the steel bars used to make the railings. The metal was heated in a
blacksmith's
forge then flattened and hammered
by hand into
Verdigris' signature curves. Their
finish is a charcoal grey, textured
micaceous iron oxide paint that complements
the oak woodwork of the staircase.
The railing's sweeping curves are
all slightly different to each other because of their handmade nature, yet all belong to the same family.
An interesting feature of the railings is that some bars are
flattened in one plane whilst others are flattened perpendicularly
to these.
