The design of this simple, detailed and elegant handrail was inspired
by the flowing and sensuous curves featured in metalwork from the Art Nouveau
period.
The hand forged metalwork has a
burnished and waxed finish that protects and enhances its surface. This also highlights the subtle
texture and tones that the hammer and anvil lend the steel, whilst complementing the woodwork of the stairs. The leather wrapping references metal
collar joinery traditionally used by
blacksmiths.
