H23 Contemporary Art Nouveau Stair Balustrade

"... stylish, elegant, and bespoke metalwork ..."

The Piazza, Covent Garden

The stair balustrades and gallery railings featured here were commissioned for a boutique in the Piazza, Covent Garden. The contemporary Art Nouveau inspired design of the panels progressively evolves as it flows around the gallery and down the stairs. A balanced blend of balls, hoops, sweeping curves and straight lines lends the design an abstract quality. The flowing curves weave in and out of the matrix to draw the eye into the work and continually discover new facets of the design.

The curvilinear elements were shaped by hot forging the steel to give its surface a rich and expressive texture that was highlighted with a burnished and waxed finish.
